Movember is a yearly initiative to raise money for the leading men’s health charity across the world. Movember focuses on three of the top issues amongst men: Mental health and Suicide Prevention, Prostate Cancer and Testicular Cancer. Since 2003, they have funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects whilst challenging social norms surrounding men’s health!

What is Movember?

Movember sees men and women across the world choosing to grow out their body hair for the month of November. Participants raise sponsorship money for their endeavour, whilst also committing to raise awareness of the key issues facing men in the 21st century. Since 2003, over five million people have participated in Movember, helping men living with prostate and testicular cancer and mental health challenges.

How can you get involved?

There are so many ways to raise money for Movember!

Grow a Moustache

This is perhaps the most known method of raising money for Movember. Participants, known as ‘Mo Bros’, commit to growing and grooming a moustache for the entire month of November. Women may also choose to get involved by choosing not to shave their legs or arms for the month!

Move for Movember

If growing a moustache is not on your agenda, or you want to push yourself even further, you could opt to ‘Move for Movember’. This involves committing to a challenging physical activity during the month of November. You could join the ‘MoRunning’ club and run or walk 60km during the month. That’s one kilometre for the sixty men lost to suicide across the world every hour. You could also join the ‘Movember Cycling Club’ and try to cycle 150 miles in November. Over 100,000 cyclists have signed up so far, so why not join them?

Host a Mo-ment

Or, what better way to raise awareness than by hosting an event with your friends and family to discuss these important issues whilst enjoying each others company? Find a group of people and host a casual event together and help raise vital fund to help change the lives of men today.
