To provide regular social and practical activities for service users in the acute
ward setting. This includes 1;1 and group interventions to enhance the ward
activity programme and support recovery.
The volunteer will work closely with the existing activities co-ordinators,
Support workers and Occupational Therapists on the wards
To provide support and engage service users in therapeutic activities to
promote recovery, independence and well-being and to support the
development of a balanced therapeutic ward
What skills do I need?
Good communication and engagement skills. Non judgemental. Resilient
The ability to adapt quickly and flexibly to changing situations around them and a
range of practical skills.
Welcome individuals with specific skills such as crafts or therapy knowledge
but this is not essential.
There may be opportunities to run some exercise groups, if this is deemed safe
to do so.
