Help Residents get around

Do you enjoy driving and meeting new people?

Volunteer drivers are needed for 15 seater mini buses with a tail lift for wheelchairs. Volunteers would drive the minibus to give elderly and disabled people a day out, maybe to the seaside or a garden centre or for other popular activities that they may not otherwise be able to do.

If you can give just a few days or evenings each month to assist in this invaluable service then get involved!

What skills do I need?

Volunteers need a full clean driving licence with D1 and must be fairly fit as they may be required to wheel and secure wheelchairs. However, people who need carers will be accompanied by them.

No special driving test is involved - although training will be given through the MIDAS scheme
