Help Residents get around

Do you enjoy driving and meeting new people?

Volunteer drivers are needed for 15 seater mini buses with a tail lift for wheelchairs. Volunteers would drive the minibus to give elderly and disabled people a day out, maybe to the seaside or a garden centre or for other popular activities that they may not otherwise be able to do.

If you can give just a few days or evenings each month to assist in this invaluable service then get involved!

What skills do I need?

Volunteers need a full clean driving licence with D1 and must be fairly fit as they may be required to wheel/clamp wheelchairs. However, people who need carers will be accompanied by them.

No special driving test is involved - although training will be given through the MIDAS scheme
