A volunteer is needed to support the administration of a small charity that runs alms houses in Maldon (2 bungalows). The clerk to the trustees will be a main contact for residents in regards maintenance matters, although at the current time both residents have good family support to help.
In addition the Clerk will provide support to the trustees through the preparation of agendas, reports and minutes for meetings which are held twice yearly (April and October). In usual times meetings are approx 2 hours and run from the Chairmans home. The clerk will also be responsible for ensuring minutes actions are followed up and/or completed.
The Clerk is responsible for the Receipts and Payments accounts and reports half yearly to the Trustees. This entails recording limited receipts and expenditure and reconciling quarterly with the bank statement. The report is a simple summary of receipts expenditure showing the bank reconciliation.
The Price Charity is responsible for the interior and exterior maintenance of the bungalows, together with the maintenance of the garden areas. A regular contract is in place for the gardens and a list of other tradesmen is available for all other matters.
The volunteer role will be home based
