Compassionate care/Namaste care volunteers

This is an exciting new project and opportunity to support all wards in delivering compassionate and Namaste care to help enhance patient experiences. Volunteers will perform a variety of duties, including sitting with patients to encourage conversation or to provide company, reading them a newspaper or story, and playing music from a device. Full training will be given, including caring for patients who have learning disabilities or those who are living with dementia.

What skills do I need?

Any previous volunteering roles would be useful but not essential, good communication skills, patience and the ability to use your own initiative, keeping within the boundaries and guidelines of the role description. You are able to offer a minimum of 4 hours per week and commit to 1 year of voluntary service.

Availability Details

A morning shift is usually between 10 to 1:30 pm and an afternoon shift between 1:30pm to 4pm (Can be flexible)
