Place believes in the power of creative participation in the health and
wellbeing of our members. Our main ambition is to support our members
(predominantly of working age who have been diagnosed with early onset
dementia) in harnessing their skills, talents and interests through
opportunities to be creative together. You will be playing a central role in
maintaining the wellbeing of the members who attend.
Our volunteers will be keen to share their interests in arts, crafts, woodwork,
poetry, music, knitting and chatting, gardening, or any other creative ideas
you may wish to bring.
You will be in a creative, warm, friendly, open and empowering environment and
support will be offered from the multi-disciplinary team. You will enjoy the
benefits of being with a community of members whose aim is to have a fun filled
day.
You will work alongside our members in the day centre in whatever area of
interest or skill you bring, supported by our staff and other experienced
volunteers.
You may be asked to support our staff and other volunteers with visits by our
members to the local sporting village and leisure centre, for organised
sessions of gentle sport and exercise.
A commitment of between 2-3 hours each week would be ideal but if you have more
time to give, this will always be welcome by the centre.
Sessions will be led by our experienced staff who will provide any training
needed.

Willingness
to be flexible and create opportunities for our members to enhance their skills
and interests.
You will demonstrate a positive and caring nature to all who work at the centre.
