Prevention (Home Safety) Volunteer

← Back to search results

We are looking to recruit volunteers to visit people in their homes, give fire safety advice and fit smoke alarms. This will be within the districts of Colchester and Tendring.

During home visits, volunteers will also be able to assess general risks in the home (slips, trips and falls) and give safety advice accordingly. There will also be scope to provide advice on basic home security aspects.

Full training / shadowing will be provided.

Mileage and expenses will be paid.

This is a very rewarding and important role. We are a fun, friendly team and provide ongoing support and training to our volunteers.

What skills do I need?

Must be a good communicator and happy to interact with the public.

Must be organised and able to work through a given list of home visits.

Must be comfortable using IT and inputting data linked to the visit. Full IT support will be provided.

Must drive and have own car.
