The History Centre is open three times a week, during which members of the volunteer team welcome visitors and assist those who are researching their family history or other aspects of the village.
Volunteers also become involved with archiving documents and photographs, prepare displays of material for our exhibition boards and website, and generally enjoy exploring the village archive, individually or in groups.
Opening hours are Wednesdays and Sundays 2-4pm, and Thursdays 10am-12 during April- October. Archiving sessions by arrangement with team Nov- March.
What skills do I need?
No particular experience or skills are required to join our team, but we would particularly welcome help from anyone familiar with using an Excel Spreadsheet (for our archive work), designing and up-dating our website (using the WordPress platform) and managing a straightforward database – help is available for anyone wishing to get involved with these particular tasks.
