THIS OPPORTUNITY IS FOR OUR THURROCK SITE IN THE LOWER DUNTON ROAD

Please come and join our growing team of volunteers.

Volunteers are needed to assist in reception at St Luke's.  Customer care is important, as reception is the first contact visitors have with St Luke's.  The role of the receptionist is to greet all visitors in a professional and friendly manner with a welcoming smile and friendly word. Also, you will be taking incoming calls to the hospices and recording and delivering messages to relevant departments.

Volunteering at St Luke's is a fantastic way to meet other people, a stepping stone back to the workforce with the benefit of helping people in your local community at a time they need you the most. It is a friendly, warm and fun place to work. We have a variety of volunteering roles available and you will definitely feel part of the team. A good sense of humour is essential.

Please note that if you are applying for the new hospice in the Lower Dunton Road, it has no public transport services yet, you need to have your own transport.

What skills do I need?

A taster session alongside an experienced volunteer receptionist will be organised before training is provided, although most of the learning is through observation and peer support.

Friendly & approachable.

Do you have an understanding of and commitment to confidentiality?
