We are about to start a new round of our volunteer advice training programme.
As an adviser you will give advice on a range of enquiry areas including welfare benefits, debt, employment, housing and consumer issues, using a national information system.
We currently provide advice by telephone and email but in normal times we also provide face to face advice.
You need to be able to volunteer for 1 or 2 days a week
Initially working from home but we hope that post lockdown you will be able to provide advice
from our office in Clacton-on-Sea or one of our outreach sites in Frinton, Walton
on the Naze or Harwich
What skills do I need?
You don't need any previous experience or training. If you are passionate about people's rights, willing to learn, have a non-judgemental attitude, and want to help people in your community, we will give you the training you need for this role.
Our training is comprehensive and includes all the advice areas we cover as well as practical skiils such as interview skills, negotiation and caserecording.
Its covid safe as its currently on-line and via zoom.
