We are looking to recruit dynamic volunteers across Essex.
A list of duties are outlined below:
The counselling service offered by Essex ARC is substance misuse counselling, not a generic counselling service; service users who require generic counselling or support with mental health concerns, bereavement etc should be referred to appropriate services.
The role of counsellors in the Essex ARC service is to support service users on their recovery journey by exploring underlying issues related to their substance misuse. Regular review of service users’ progress and signposting them to other support services including mutual aid groups is key in helping service users to take positive steps towards their recovery.
Counsellors will need to familiarise themselves with Phoenix Futures’ policies and procedures. These are easily available in both physical and electronical format (Purple Policies Folder available at each site and on our SharePoint intranet).
