We require volunteer drivers to drive our large and small minibuses, collect our members from their homes and transport them to our day activities centre in Basildon. You will be guaranteed a fun filled commute with members who are at the early stage of their dementia and predominately of working age.
To collect adults from their home addresses, bring them to the centre and return journey at the end of the session. There will be an escort who will travel on the minibus to support adults during their journey.
To follow all relevant council policies including equality, health and safety and the Peaceful Place policy and procedures (training will be given).
What skills do I need?
Must be over 21 and have held a licence for two years.
Hold a full, clean and valid driver's licence (to include a D1 entitlement for driving our larger minibus, a normal B1 classification can be used for our smaller bus).
Good communication skills are essential, and you must be reliable and trustworthy and be committed to helping the service.
You will need to be patient, kind, understanding and have a friendly, caring nature.
Experience of working with people with memory loss would be beneficial but not necessary.
Knowledge of the local areas would be beneficial.

Drivers needed for shifts from Monday- Friday. Morning pick ups are from 7:30am - 10am, and afternoon drop offs are between 3:30pm - 7pm..
