The Community Exchange Needs You!

5 August 2021

A Community Exchange, sometimes known as a TimeBank, is an informal way of volunteering within the community.

In a Community Exchange, you can do a favour for someone in the community, and someone else can help you if you need it! This creates a cycle of community support, allowing individuals to share their skills and make use of other people’s.

However, to make this possible, we need volunteers to donate their time, and projects for them to work on.

Whether you would like to share your fantastic gardening knowledge, teach someone how to get onto the internet successfully or would like to help someone set up their sewing machine, your skills could change the community!

Getting involved as a volunteer is easy, and you can choose when and how often you would like to volunteer.

Moreover, if you are looking to learn something new or need a helping hand from a casual volunteer, the Community Exchange could help you.

You can:

  • Choose when and how often you would like to volunteer.
  • Offer your skills and spare time to help others.
  • Support family, friends, neighbours and meet new people.
  • Ask for help in return.

It is also easy to register Community Exchange opportunities with us, so let us know if you have some tasks that volunteers could help with.

If you are eager to begin, there are already lots of ways to get involved in the Community Exchange and you could start helping people right away!

If you have any questions, you can always get in touch with us to discuss how we can help you.
